San Francisco International Airport Projects

SFMI is proud to be a part of two teams selected to work on two new exciting new projects at San Francisco International Airport (SFO).

Terminal 1, Interim Boarding Area B.

With the team of Corgan Architects and LDA Architects, SFMI has been selected to provide low voltage design services on the Terminal 1 Interim Boarding Area B project. This first project will prepare a path for the ultimate replacement of the 60 year old Terminal 1 by relocating and renovating nine passenger gates used by Southwest Airlines and Frontier Airlines, including new systems to provide contemporary airfield operations during the interim period, airline offices, concessions and supporting facilities.

Firehouse 3 & South Field Checkpoint Relocation.

SFMI is also part of a project team led by Shah Kawasaki Architects in collaboration with yamamar architecture, which will construct a new Fire Station and security checkpoint at the south end of the airfield.  The project will accommodate a runway relocation designed to allow SFO to accommodate a new class of wide body jets.
